Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), issued a clear and direct warning against India over their continued actions in Jammu and Kashmir disputed region, calling for immediate end of what he characterized as oppressive tactics against Kashmiri people.
At a press briefing held in Muzaffarabad on Saturday, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq harshly denounced India’s recent moves in Indian-administered Kashmir and charged that New Delhi is violating international laws and United Nations Security Council resolutions. He stated that people of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan would not remain silent against growing aggression from India.
“Kashmiris are not weak and our patience should not be misconstrued as fear,” according to the AJK premier. If India continues its oppressive policies, Kashmiris will be forced to respond politically, diplomatically and morally at every global platform available.
The Prime Minister’s statements come amid a recent increase in tensions along the Line of Control (LoC), including reports of cross-border ceasefire violations and increased military presence, sparking fears of an escalated conflict between nuclear-armed neighbors.
Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq called on the international community, particularly the UN and human rights organizations, to intervene and hold India accountable for any alleged human rights abuses in Kashmir Valley. He stressed that people of Jammu and Kashmir have legitimate right to self-determination as stipulated in multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions.
“The silence of global powers on Kashmir is deeply disappointing,” he lamented, stating: “Justice delayed is justice denied – before it’s too late, the world must take notice and demand action be taken before its too late!”
Solidarity With the People of Kashmir
In his address, the AJK Prime Minister voiced unflinching solidarity with Kashmiris living under Indian administration and pledged his government’s commitment to supporting their peaceful struggle for liberation. Additionally, he announced plans for an international awareness campaign to draw attention to Kashmiris’ situation–particularly within Western capitals and human rights forums.
Anwar-ul-Haq spoke out strongly in defense of AJK’s resolve for peace in the region, asserting that its pursuit does not come at the cost of dignity or rights. “We are peaceful people; however, we will never concede on identity, land ownership or freedom,” he stated.
As regional tensions escalate, Prime Minister Modi’s warning constitutes a key diplomatic move which could shape future political discourse across South Asia.
